This training manual is designed for rural women and rural elected women leaders in South Asia to enhance their capacities and skills required to deliver 1.5 days training programme on 'Gender, Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security' at the grassroots level. The manual, supported by Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) programme, flags impact of climate change on local agriculture, the gender impacts of climate change on women farmers and what local women and elected women leaders can do.
This Training of Trainers (ToT) Manual on 'Gender, Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security' is a hands-on training tool for rural women and rural elected women leaders in South Asia to understand what is climate change, its impact on agriculture and specifically on women farmers, how government programmes help women farmers adapt to these impacts and possible adaptive interventions using government schemes. The summary manual is accompanied by a more detailed South Asia ToT Manual. The hands-on ToT Manual is available in English and Hindi as well as in Nepal and Bangla and is applicable to the Indo-Gangetic plains of Bihar in India, the Terai region of Nepal and the flood plains in Bangladesh.
